Action plan
Posted by Admin in Management on April 22, 2009
When we need to organize our work and not know where to start is advisable to make a plan of action and thus distribute activities and maximize our time, an action plan serves to define the actions and tasks may be assigned responsibility and start dates and term. It is advisable to review with your boss every week or every two days to learn the extent of progress and correcting deviations from the plan.
First we have to define what are the key activities or tasks the principal after going to break down for smaller tasks as they all involve time.
All these activities have to assign a priority to have an execute order upon an estimated life in hours or days after the start or end dates in case someone depends on this activity will know when you’ll do to get you started . Also you can assign resources responsibility to know who’s going to take that activity and finally the degree of progress to see if we are to meet the estimated date and not delay others.
As we can see the action plan gives us a picture of our work in the company and used to measure our performance and when you need to ask for a raise you one more tool for saying this is what I do and I achieved this, equal and paste.
Objectives of purposes

At this time of year we are assessing if we fulfill our purposes for the year ended, so if the plant or even we remember them because there are many who fall in the middle of the road or even started, so that the next us this year will not pass these purposes must be converted into goals.
An objective is a concrete which is what we want to achieve a purpose is only a wish.
First we should identify what do we want? And what we will achieve with meeting the objective? That is going to bring consequences.
The objectives must be expressed in the positive terms by which I mean that if you say Exercising twice a week, your brain is programmed to do so there is no negative word, but if you think I’m going to quit, the fact leave, remove, lose, since it involves the brain other sensations that prevents you achieve your goal.
The goals should be self-initiated arise that means you, not people who are around because maybe everyone can give you that you should lose weight, and say OK I’ll have it next year but if your purpose you are happy with your weight and is healthy for you because you would not have changed.
They must also be self-controlled, has to rely on yourself, not someone else do something to fulfill such as being happy, it just depends on your attitude to life.
You must be a fraction that is manageable from fractions may be because you think I save a million dollars for next December, but not going to be saved in February or March, you have to plan how you will saving a month to go until it meets the target.
This shows that making goals is more than what we learned in school if you remember any of you are ending with the verb in the infinitive, which are measurable and quantifiable and achievable. They still have 13 days to keep thinking what is your objective for next year.

What are the functions of a manager?
Posted by Admin in Management on January 6, 2009
In this article we will talk about two points of view of the “gurus” of modern management, about what being a manager and what its functions are.
Peter Drucker was among the first to try to define the tasks of management, we started with what is the address and what it does? A director is someone who guides the work of their subordinates to achieve a common goal.
Direction in every decision must have an economic goal. You can only justify their existence and authority through the economic results it produces. There may be great economic results as the happiness of the members of the company, contributing to the welfare and culture, but fails to produce economic results, the management fails, it fails if no improvement or at least maintaining the ability to produce profits of the resources entrusted to it. It’s like a baseball team, no matter if you have many fans or fill stadiums, if the team does not win the manager leaves.
Next is Henry Mintzberg, he said that the manager must possess certain skills:
- Able to develop relationships between colleagues.
- To carry out negotiations.
- To motivate its employees.
- To resolve and prevent conflict.
- Provide networking and information dissemination.
- Making decisions with limited information and ambiguous.
- Distribute resources.
So, the manager’s job at least has three functions:
1. Interpersonal: Performs liaison activities, which seeks to create and maintain contacts outside the vertical chain of command.
2. Report: Information is a key part of the work of a manager and has to detect where is the information, look for link between their contacts and their subordinates; pass this information to their employees who otherwise would not have access to the same and be the spokesperson, that is, send this information to anyone outside the unit.
3. Decision-making role: information is the basic element used by management as a resource for decision-making from his unit and he will determine the strategy.
The director must be an agent of change and help your unit to adapt to environmental conditions, must be able to resolve the problems presented by relying on its experience and information to know what the problems and to propose corrective actions or prevention within their capabilities and, finally, distributing the resources that have been ordered.
